That chilly fog descending on San Francisco can only mean one thing, it’s summertime in the Bay Area!  While you may be breaking out the sweaters and blankets, we have a place that will get you into a tropical state of mind:  Anina.  Anina opened in March in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco.  In a beautiful change of pace, this place brings a bright, fresh design to the bar world.

Opened by the owners behind Brass Tacks, the goal for Anina was to create something new and different in this growing neighborhood.  The space is open and airy and includes an outdoor patio with communal garden tables and string lights for casual cocktails in the fresh evening air.

The interior has a sunny palette of emerald green, peacock blue, burnished orange, and pops of pink. Geometric and leaf motif tiles line the counters and backsplash while colorful ceramic pendants from Los Angeles subtly illuminate the bar without competing with the other visual elements. Natural and gray woods wrap the interior walls and are paired with the striking mural of large-scale florals and fronds across the walls. The impressive floral paintings are the work of Argentine artist Lucila Dominguez.

Touches of white keep the interior bright while an eclectic collection of watercolors in various vintage frames add motion and imagination to the design.  The exterior is painted in bright, festive colors making it hard to pass by and you won’t want to miss this summer oasis!
