Coddington Design has offices in both San Francisco and Los Angeles.  These two cities are innovative and pioneering as design destinations.  A large part of what makes these cities so inspiring is the architecture.  From their skylines to the hidden gems found while driving through their hilly neighborhoods, we draw so much creative energy from the buildings, houses, and design elements of LA and SF.  We recently highlighted a few of the San Francisco architects we love and now we want to showcase some of the Los Angeles architects that we look to for original and visionary ideas.

Metson Urman Architecture

We believe that beauty and function create a successful design project that’s why Metson Urman Architecture is on our list of favorites.  Beautifully blending function with modern design, their California inspired designs are streamlined and stunning.

We especially love the exterior and outdoor living space in the photo above. The finishes of the home enhance the natural surroundings and the large patio and pool make it flexible for family get togethers or large events.

Paul Brant Williger

Paul Brant Williger is experienced in custom residential architecture. Having developed an impressive portfolio, he’s also active in the broader design community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA). Mr. Williger works in traditional designs and also in large scale custom projects. We can appreciate the dedication that goes into custom design jobs and they are one of our favorite kinds of projects to work on.

Contemporary simplicity are the words that come to mind with this exterior space. The monochrome home and poolside furniture pop against the natural environment while the ease of the architecture allows the design to speak for itself.

Tim Barber Ltd Architecture

Tim Barber Ltd Architecture is well-known for their custom homes in varying styles with a signature theme that includes a sophisticated yet relaxed contemporary look. TBL leads with strong style and clear communication with clients and those are two values we hold dear.

We love the white and navy theme for this outdoor area. The white subway tile of the pool mirrors the siding on the pool house. The wrap around patio and built-in BBQ area makes this the perfect entertaining space.
