At Coddington Design we are in the midst of creating our Unapologetically Pink Rosé Lounge for this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase. Before its unveiling, we wanted to tease you with a few elements of the room.

The focal point of the Lounge is the CTRLZAK Precious Storage Safe. Rather than hide the room’s treasures away in a vault, we display them in this jewel-like piece of furniture. Crafted in Italy and comprised of a  transparent crystal case with satin brass locking mechanism and hinges, the piece floats on an open metal stand. What do you guess will be inside, pink diamonds, or a Pink Pussy Hat?

We selected a Milo Baughman 1950s swivel chair for relaxing while sipping French Rosé wine. The American designer, known for his clean, modern silhouettes said, “Furniture that is too obviously designed is very interesting, but too often belongs only in museums.” We agree and designed the Rosé Lounge to be a beautifully functional retreat.

To illuminate the space we chose Mathieu Matégot’s Satellite Pendant from Finnish manufacturer Gubi.  Hungarian / French Matégot designed the lantern-fixture in 1953.  To define different areas of the Lounge, we will install a Shy Cherry and Midnight Black Satellite Pendant Lamp.  Fabricated from perforated “Rigitulle” metal, the lanterns casts a soft light on the room.
