One of the best ways that we learn about the latest and greatest in design is by attending design events. We love to stay involved within the design community and continue our learning whenever possible. Additionally, sharing these events with you helps to elevate the field of design and create even more exposure. Keep on reading to find out which San Francisco and Los Angeles design events this spring are our favorites, and where Melanie will be speaking!

Design Bloggers Conference (March 4th – 6th)

The Design Bloggers Conference is the only conference specifically focused on the interests of interior design bloggers, interior designers using content to build their businesses and personal brands, brands leveraging the web and blogger networks, and any design professional seeking to learn more about using social and other digital content for branding, connecting, or ecommerce.

We are especially excited about this event because Melanie will be presenting on a panel on Sunday focusing on SEO. The panel is called “SEO Secrets: How to Increase Page Ranks for Small Teams and Solo-preneurs”. She will be joined on the panel by Krista Coupar, President of Coupar Consulting, as well as Brady Tolbert, Editorial Director at Emily Henderson Design.

The Design Bloggers Conference will be held at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Modernism Week (Feb. 15th – 24th)

It goes without saying that we love all things mid-century modern. Modernism Week is an annual celebration of mid-century modern design, architecture, art, and culture in the Palm Springs area of Southern California. The mission of Modernism Week is to celebrate and foster an appreciation of midcentury architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking in these fields, by encouraging education, preservation and sustainable modern living as represented in the greater Palm Springs area. With more than 350 events such as the Modernism Show & Sale, Signature Home Tours, films, lectures, Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tours, nightly parties and live music, walking and bike tours, tours of Sunnylands, fashion, classic cars, modern garden tours, a vintage travel trailer exhibition, and more, this is an event that shouldn’t be missed.

Design San Francisco (Feb. 7th – 8th)

You will have to wait until next year, but no list of spring design events is complete without Design SF. We love Design SF because it showcases the newest offerings in furniture, fabrics, lighting, and area rugs from each of the showrooms (not to mention it is mere steps from our office at the San Francisco Design Center). It brings strong keynote speeches every year, with this year’s featuring Holly Hunt and Madeline Stuart along with local San Francisco designers and magazine editors. This community-wide discussion about our industry allows us to learn from each other and keeps us in the know about the best practices for how we operate, source and design for our clients.
