Spring Shopping Edition April 8, 2016
The evenings are getting lighter, the sun is feeling a little warmer, and the tulips are bursting with color. Spring has finally sprung and it’s the perfect time to freshen up your home with a few playful and modern designs. We’ve been browsing the new collections at the San Francisco Design Center and Dering Hall to bring you some of our favorite designs that are sure to shake off that winter dreariness with this year’s springtime trends in rugs, textiles, and furniture.
Soft Pastel Prints
Pastels often pop up around this time of year but we’re not talking about the bubblegum pink and powderpuff blue variety. We spotted a new breed of pastels in these sophisticated wallcoverings and handpainted panels. They deliver soft, warm tones in contemporary prints that make it easy to integrate into larger designs throughout all seasons.
We are seeing copper trending this spring in many areas of interiors. Slightly softer in hue than brass, copper has a timeless presence within any space. Introducing metallics into a room doesn’t have to be in the form of candlesticks, vases, or other accessories. Many interior pieces are now available with a copper finish such as wallcoverings and armoires.
Woven textiles tend to bring a casual feeling into a space. We discovered some great rugs and wallcoverings that balance this texture with innovative patterns and relaxed color palettes. Adding a little harmony to a home through color, texture, and pattern is what springtime is all about.
