Summer Design Discovery: Quintus August 5, 2016
Whenever we get the chance to mingle with new furniture designs, we take it. Last month, we got a first-hand peek at the Quintus Summer 2016 Collection when they had a pop-up at the San Francisco Design Center. Quintus has been on our radar for their modern designs and the beautiful details of their furniture and lighting. Their showroom in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center has been a favorite for our team in the LA office. The good news for the Bay Area is that the pop-up was the beginning of a more permanent presence in the San Francisco Design Center with pieces from their collection available for viewing during the week.
Quintus does two things really well. They create their own line of high quality, well designed products and they develop partnerships with companies and artists that share their vision of style and craft. The Quintus Summer Collection is exceptionally impressive with elements of walnut and oak woods that create a cohesive furniture collection.
One of our favorite partners of Quintus is Studio Bel Vetro, a custom blown glass lighting studio and showroom located in Healdsburg, California. We really love the work of this studio, in fact, they just made the custom light fixtures for our Nantucket project. Studio Bel Vetro’s pieces showcase the elegance of handcrafted design and experienced artistry. Here are some of the pieces from the Quintus collection and Studio Bel Vetro that we are especially inspired by.
Trista Sofa (Quintus): The light walnut frame and plush upholstery make this sofa a versatile piece that can subtly accent a room or stand alone as the main centerpiece.
Turin Table (Quintus): Thick geometric slabs of rift oak and satin brass accents give this dining room table an undeniable presence.
Aqua Lumina (Studio Bel Vetro): This lighting fixture is an ensemble of watery glass elements. Each of the individual glass pieces are sculpted to fit perfectly into a striking design.
Light Drops (Studio Bel Vetro): These tear drop shaped pendants with metal accents can either be placed individually or in a cluster at staggered heights creating a mesmerizing statement piece.
