Full-Service Interior Design vs. Designer on Demand: What’s the Difference?

Ever dream of having an interior designer on speed dial? Maybe you have a specific question or a smaller project in mind, or you’re hesitant to hand over complete creative control. That’s exactly why we developed Designer on Demand, a flexible approach that tailors our expertise to your specific needs and preferences.

But how does it stack up against our full-service design service? Let’s break it down.

What is Designer on Demand?

Think of Designer on Demand (or DOD) as your secret weapon for those who don’t need the full white-glove treatment. It’s a by-the-hour interior design service that connects you with our expert team to answer your burning design questions and help you develop a plan you can implement yourself.

Who is it for? DOD is ideal for smaller projects you can tackle on your own, like furnishing a studio or revamping a single room. With DOD, you’re in complete control of your investment and timeline, making it perfect for savvy shoppers who enjoy the thrill of the hunt (retail therapy, anyone?).

How is Designer on Demand different from Full-Service Design?

The short answer: it’s vastly different.

Designer on Demand provides focused, hands-on support tailored to your specific needs. Need help with furniture selection or creating a floor plan? We’ve got you covered. We offer expert advice on anything from window treatments to finishing touches, empowering you to take charge of your project and your timeline. You’ll get our expertise exactly where you need it, and never where you don’t.

Full Service Design is the all-inclusive VIP treatment. From brainstorming dream concepts to sourcing one-of-a-kind furniture and managing contractors, we take care of everything. Keep in mind that full-service design typically comes with a longer project timeline and a higher price tag. Speaking of…

Full-Service Design vs. Designer on Demand: Investment Breakdown

You might have noticed a range of pricing options when it comes to interior designers. Why the gap? Experience matters!

With over 20 years in the San Francisco design scene, we’ve honed our skills and expertise to deliver top-notch service. Our pricing reflects our depth of industry knowledge, ensuring that you receive the best results that exceed your expectations. Plus, we continue to be featured in prestigious magazines, further showcasing our dedication to excellence and innovation.

For full-service design, our projects typically start at $250,000 – $1,000,000+, but the final investment varies depending on complexity and scope. Designer on Demand is billed at a flat hourly rate of $350/hour. You might think DOD has a higher price tag than some other options out there, but remember: unlike other designers who may mark up furniture prices to increase their profits, we give our clients the freedom to purchase their own items.

This means that while our service may have a higher upfront cost, you ultimately have MUCH more control over your investment and the items you bring into your space. It’s all about empowering you to create a home that reflects your unique style and preferences.
